An efficient performance evaluation method of the traveling wave rotary ultrasonic motor’s flexible rotor

For a traveling wave rotary ultrasonic motor, matching the stator with proper flexible rotor can be challenging because of actual contact mechanism’s complexity. Due to lack effective evaluation and prediction means in design process, prototype test is usually needed truly measure how well it performs, leading high cost long cycle. In order solve this problem, an efficient performance method based on equivalent pressure proposed. By key parameters rotor’s surface (area pressure), model established, which reveals influence law structural motor’s output performance. It doubly verified by dynamics simulation experiments. The advantage that without computation test, only statics analysis evaluate score target quickly accurately. This study expected provide support for structure rotor, significant time savings achieved.
